In the immediate vicinity of Pärnävaara sports center and close to services of Joensuu city center.

15 km to the northwest from Joensuu, lake Jyrinjärvi 20 m (0.3 km²), steep slope to the beach (stepped stone path with railing ), sand bottom, pontoon pier, 4-5 m shallow and then deepens quickly, water depth at the end of the pier is about 2 m.

20 km to disc golf course in Liperi. Within 15 km in Joensuu, there are also activities like par3 golf course and bowling and badel halls.
