"Elk Summit" is nestled in the woods overlooking the valleys in and around Townsend, Tennessee.

The 2BR/1Bath cabin is perfect for 4 guests with a comfortable queen bed in each bedroom. No problem if you have a couple of extra kids or friends--there's also room for two more guests on the queen sofa bed in the den. The cabin has a portable pack-and-play. Tv's are smart tv's only, and you must login to whatever app you would like to use.

Enjoy the amazing view from the private hot tub on the cabin deck! Or if you prefer, soak in the indoor jacuzzi tub. Either one is a great way to relax after a long day hiking :)

Grill some burgers on the outdoor propane grill or enjoy a fire in the real-wood fireplace. We provide propane for the grill and a starter bundle of firewood for the fireplace. Many local stores sell bundled firewood should you need more.

The kitchen is complete with full size fridge, microwave, combo drip and pod KRURIG coffeemaker, stove and kitchen basics such as dishes, glasses, and silverware. We provide coffee, sugar, powdered creamer, coffee filters, and a variety of basic cooking spices for your convenience.

The cabin is part of Thunderhead Ridge, a 25-acre getaway with beautiful views, areas for walking dogs, and plenty of tranquility. You can cast in a line or float tube down the Little River, just a quick 2-minute drive from the cabin. Trout fishing is popular up-stream inside the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. In summertime, we offer access to a luxury community pool about 5-10 min away. You can even book a round of golf at Laurel Valley Golf Course. Also, no need to worry about unwanted disturbances and traffic – Thunderhead Ridge Cabins is a secluded and gated property.

We’re happy to welcome your furry friends! To ensure a great stay for everyone, please review and follow our pet policy below:

-Up to 2 dogs allowed per booking.

-A $50 pet fee is REQUIRED.

-Before you check out, please add the Pet Fee under the “Enhance Your Stay” section of the booking process.

-Dogs must be crated if left alone inside the cabin.

-No dogs allowed on furniture or beds — an extra fee will be charged if evidence is found.

-Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets outside.

Additional fees will be charged for any violations of these rules, including excessive cleaning, damage, or failure to pick up pet waste.

If you have any questions about bringing your pet or where the fee is, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thanks for being a respectful and responsible pet parent!

If you use the Grill, please clean it after use to avoid a fee.

The cabin, deck, hot tub, grill and free parking are available exclusively for your use during your stay.

We often have team members present between 10 am and 4 pm. If you have non-emergency needs, we will make arrangements for you during regular hours. You can always message via Airbnb as needed.

Located in a wooded area. The cabin is located about a quarter mile up a newly-paved road. The roads nearby are paved and narrow. Please drive slowly and stay safe.

You will need a private vehicle. There is no public transportation in this area. Uber & taxis will service the populated area, but there is no local public service.

*Asheville airport - 2.5 hrs

*Nashville - 3 hrs
